Living with diabetes can be very frustrating at times. Low and high blood sugars can get in the way of everything from taking a test at school to having sex. Understanding what the underlying causes of these frustrations are, can help reduce or possibly even prevent Diabetes Burnout. While the actual events you're frustrated about are part of the equation, how we think about our diabetes plays a much larger role. During this seminar, we are going to go over the causes and symptoms of Diabetes Burnout. We are going to look at contributing factors of diabetes burnout: Perception of diabetes, Value placed on Diabetes Self-Management, Perspective on Blood Glucose. Self-Care behaviors that can be used to reduce burnout will be discussed as well. There will be a short question and answer period as well. I look forward to helping you reduce diabetes burnout. See you there!

"To get what you've never had, you must do what you've never done." --Thomas Jefferson Stepping outside your comfort zone can be daunting, even just in your daily personal life and especially when it comes to health & fitness. Thankfully, I have been blessed to work with some incredible mentors throughout my life that have "shown me the ropes," yet allowed me the freedom & creativity to learn my body & mind and challenged me to do things I'd never done before. From the time I was an athletic trainer in high school, learning about the human body and how it functions, I have been drawn to continue my learning in every facet possible so that I can to be a better health & fitness professional each day. I am profoundly passionate about the gifts and talents I've been blessed with and I also aspire to always be as humble as possible when it comes to learning in my industry, because that is how we grow as fitness professionals. Over the last 5 years, I have come to realize what I love most in life is being in community with others, sharing thoughts, ideas, experiences, and even health "hacks" that may add value to people's lives. I have been gifted with the opportunity to offer support and to meet people's needs the best way I know how; whether it's with knowledge, resources, networking, or products I'm passionate about. It's all about the personal connections and the incredible journey we each traverse. I am beyond grateful for every person I meet who shares their uniqueness with me & every life I'm allowed to be apart of, no matter how big or small. I genuinely believe each of us has greatness within us and and gifts that are our own, and they make us unique, yes, BUT they are nothing if we do not share them with the world and most importantly they can't be shared if we are not caring for the messenger vessel itself- our body. My mission with teaching through this incredible platform is to inspire dreams, change lives, and empower a holistic approach to healthy living from the inside out. I look forward to sharing & learning with each of you and building our relationship.

For many people with diabetes, blood sugar takes a silent toll on cognition, memory, retention, and recall. It can diminish learning, raise stress levels, and spur additional maladies such as depression. It impacts all aspects of life, lifestyle and turns your life upside down. For the people close to them, it has an impact as well: they often must learn to cope with feelings of guilt, anger, being helpless, and worried about this complex health issues. My private practice helps clients of all ages and their families manage life with diabetes.
