I focus my practice on gastrointestinal health, hormonal imbalances and cardiovascular conditions. My philosophy is to get to the root cause of an ailment by asking the question, “why” is a symptom occurring in the body. The body is smart, and symptoms are a subtle (or not so subtle!) warning sign that something is wrong. By “finding the why” we can support the body’s natural healing ability using nutritional modification, botanical medicines, homeopathy, and lifestyle modification. My approach to naturopathic medicine is unique blend of modern medical science and natural therapeutics.
Meg has been working as a Registered Dietitian since 1991. She has a diverse nutritition background in a variety of areas including: Eating Disorders, Weight Loss, Cardiac Disease, Gastrointestinal Disorders(Crohns Disease, Celiac Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and Diabetes. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at Saint Joseph College in West Hartford, CT., she completed a post graduate dietetic internship at the University of Connecticut, School of Allied Health in 1991. In the beginning of Meg's career she served as the Oncology Dietitian at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown,CT. Thereafter, she was employed at another major hospital in Connecticut where she worked in a variety of specialty areas including: Cardiovascular Disease, Gastrointestinal Disorders and Bariatrics. The majority of her time was spent on the Medical Surgical and Intensive Care Units. Simultaneously, Meg was established in her own private practice providing nutrition consultations for clients with: eating disorders, diabetes, food allergies and weight management concerns. Meg has worked as a District Dietitian overseeing 13 facilities in MA, CT and PA., where she was responsible for ensuring quality nutrition care for thousands of patients. Meg also served as a member on the Governor's Committee for Physical Fitness in Connecticut, where she served as the "Nutrition Expert". Meg is licensed in both MA and RI.
Kim Farmer has been a certified Personal Trainer, a Clinical Exercise Specialist and a certified Group Exercise Fitness Instructor for over 7 years. She is the owner of Mile High Fitness and currently manages personal trainers and exercise instructors in corporate and private facilities. As a member of the Governor’s Council for Physical Activity and the Denver Public Schools Sound Body Sound Mind program, she has donated many hours to the community in an effort to improve the health of Colorado residents. She is an avid tennis player, two-time winner of the Colorado State Open tournament. She is also an author of a book and several published articles, and specializes in preventative care for those that may be at risk for disease. In addition, Kim is a degreed Electrical Engineer, earning her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado. She is also a published author of a book, many fitness articles, and currently publishes a blog ''Fitness Matters”. She has a very strong passion for exercise and physical fitness and is committed to helping her clients reach and surpass their fitness and weight loss goals.
