Group and individual sound healing meditations work with intention, breath and sound to encourage the body, mind and energy of a person to consider a more harmonious state. When we work with sound, we are able to connect in a non-verbal way to create a space for reflection and open expression. Some of the benefits of sound healing meditations include a reduction of stress, anxiety and depression. We are able to invite increased focus, creativity, and a different perspective with sound. We are able to allow the body and mind to experience deep rest and relaxation. It is also possible for individuals to release physical pain and discomfort from the body during a session.

Ayurveda, the sister of Yoga is one of the oldest systems of traditional medicine in the world. Practitioners of Ayurveda use the principle of nature i.e. " Like increase like and opposites balance. " to heal people. An Ayurvedic proverb states : "The Body is the result of food, disease is the result of food, the difference between ease and disease is the intake of wholesome nourishment or the lack of it " In this talk, we will discuss ways and means to boost immunity using a whole plant based diet and a healthy lifestyle as per the classical Ayurvedic texts.

This class is a journey to understanding true health, through the lens of Ayurveda by exploring the foundational principles that make it the most powerful healing science. The particular journey of Ayurveda starts in ancient Indian texts which lay out the foundation of creation itself and provide the basis of all Ayurvedic principles. From there, we explore how this foundation opens the pathway to understanding our true Nature, our place in Nature, and ultimately, realizing our Higher Self (Divine). It is a journey through history that brings us to today, and how this ancient science is still so relevant to how we live life in the 21st century. In this class, you will learn why Ayurveda has the most comprehensive knowledge of nutritional health, lifestyle guidelines, and dietary principles which affect healing at physical, mental and spiritual levels, and for different types of people. You will come away with an understanding of how you can support your own healing and growth with Ayurveda’s multi-layered approach to creating total health (“svastha” in sanskrit). We will explore why Ayurveda is emerging as one of the most important global systems of mind-body medicine, by revealing how to understand the language of nature, and how to live in harmony with the greater universe. NOTE: The price ($700) is for 14 hours of learning (divided into 7 sessions of 2 hours each).

Mindful Strength Training to Failure (MSTF) is about this one quality: the quality of discovery. Once you understand the mechanical aspects of proper exercise, such as proper form and technique, you can practice MSTF. What you are trying to do is to bring your whole awareness to what you are experiencing in the moment, free from any idea of what you should be feeling. You are in a process of discovery. You must be able to accept anything that shows up without judgement and express it freely. If someone were to look at you, they would know everything you are going through moment by moment. This is an intimate experience, and is born of integrity, as you are being truly honest with yourself and your life in those moments. This is truly a freeing, deeply rewarding, and meditative experience. Your muscles are exhausted, but there is a deep sense of feeling good, as you are discovering something new and unexpected moment-to-moment, and supposedly producing dopamine ( a feel good neurotransmitter) during those discoveries. Producing dopamine doesn't just help you feel good. Dopamine pushes back on norepinephrine (adrenaline); and when norepinephrine spikes, our glia cells Part of Central Nervous System) tell the brain to shut off any voluntary muscular contraction, which essentially makes us give up or "fail." So we can fail before our muscles do. By producing dopamine, we can go all the way to the point of muscular failure, creating a more potent stimulus for building strength.

This class features somatic based expressive movement exercises leading participants on their own personal movement journey within a nurturing and safe group environment. When using the language of movement rather than words, a different kind of image or emotion may arise which bypasses the controlling and censoring mind. Words label what we know. Expressive movement reveals the unknown. This workshop aims to find a physical expression to the feelings, whereby a healing process can begin.

Known as the “Science of Life”, Ayurveda touches upon several features of how to live a healthy, happy, satisfying life. It places absolute priority on an individualized daily lifestyle routine (known as dinacharya), which includes everything from diet, movement, and breath, to specific self-care rituals such as self-massage. The foundation of this ancient science lies in the idea that as beings of Nature, our best self can be found when we connect to the wisdom of Nature, and in so doing, it can support us every step of the way on our health journey. This talk will focus on how we can integrate a consistent self-care practice into our busy lives by using Nature’s rhythm to achieve optimum results (it’s what our mind and body were literally designed to do!). We will explore how Nature regulates not only our own body and mind, but our understanding of Nature itself, and how the key to long-term health lies in unlocking its potential.
