Ivy League studies have routinely shown a correlation between goal-setting and "success" yet studies also show that only about 3% of our population ACTUALLY bothers to set goals. We ARE NOT talking about "hopes" "wishes" "dreams" or any figment of our imaginations that we have not TAKEN ACTION towards realizing! We are talking about "coach-able" GOALS that, at MINIMUM, meet the popular "S.M.A.R.T" criteria that many "goal setters" claim to be familiar with...or any criteria that includes Accountability (we'll explain). The first thing this course will do, however, is BREAK DOWN the difficulties in setting goals. We'll give FIVE ANSWERS to the critical question: Even knowing that it leads to success, why do most of us FAIL TO SET GOALS? Next, this course will teach you Get A Klu's S.M.A.A.R.T. criteria and Goal Setting Methodology! Don't just set S.M.A.R.T goals, set S.M.A.A.R.T GOALS! Find out what is wrong with the "S.M.A.R.T." goal-setting model and decide for your self if Get A Klu's S.M.A.A.R.T. goal-setting criteria and methodology is right for YOU! Step by step, you will learn how to set Goals EXACTLY how we teach our Coaches and Clients...giving you a "that was half the battle" mentality that makes it impossible NOT to pursue the life you really want! Finally, if there are any live participants/volunteers in the session, we'll do some LIVE COACHING specifically on Goal Setting and see Jeff Klubeck AND his S.M.A.A.R.T. Methodology IN ACTION! I hope you can join us LIVE on October 1st at 8:30 p.m. PST.

The first day of school is a universal time of change for all parents of school-age children. And though much has suddenly changed in our children’s lives, much has stayed the same in some: disorganized bedrooms, poor time management, lack of discipline, and stress. As parents, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of settling our children into the new school year and making sure they’re comfortable that we forget about the ongoing struggles our children endure the rest of the year. According to John Stamm, Ph.D., and Bill Stockton (Psych Savvy: Children and Organizational Skills), “School failure and unhappiness in the school setting can be often traced to poor organizational skills.” Evidence shows that children having trouble “dramatically improved their school performance because of assistance in becoming better organized.” There are several important areas where you can help your children get organized and keep their home and school lives running smoothly, setting them up for success later in life.

I fly over 100,000 miles a year on United Airlines. It’s a job hazard as a professional speaker. Parts of it I hate, and some things I actually enjoy, such as working uninterrupted on a plane. I know not everyone has the natural ability to live out of a suitcase or do business from a laptop bag. However, with a little practice, you can learn how to make the most of your travel time. It’s amazing what you can get done when you put some miles between yourself and the usual distractions of everyday life.

The subject of this ebook is focusing on your work and maintaining your concentration in an environment of distraction. It is so difficult to keep our minds sharp and our brains fit, with so many diversions competing for our attention. I was an avid reader growing up. I’ve read The Little House on the Prairie series probably thirty times and an unknown number of Black Beauty and Nancy Drew novels. I remember sitting for hours in the corner of our living room in my Daddy’s favorite recliner, absorbed in stories. Occasionally my mother would storm into the living room, upset. “Didn’t you hear me call you?” she would ask. I’d look at her strangely, and as I came back to reality, and answer sincerely, “No Mommy, I didn’t.” I truly didn’t hear her, because I was so focused.

In my most recent book, SuperCompetent (John Wiley and Sons, 2010), I identified and described six keys that anyone can use in the workplace to maximize their performance: Activity, Availability, Attention, Accessibility, Accountability, and Attitude. Recently, I've been considering how all six affect C-Suite executives—that is, upper-level executives like the CEO, CFO, CIO, Presidents, VPs, and Directors. What issues, concerns, and challenges do senior leaders face in these areas?

Social Media has become another huge obsessive-compulsive disorder! Like it or not, sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter are here to stay. I know that many businesses and individuals are finding interesting ways to use these social networks and interactive online types of media to do pretty amazing things. They use them to build their brands and to get to know their customers. What about you? Where do you stand in this whole world called “Web 2.0”? Perhaps, you have avoided it all together or maybe you’re an addict. It could be really wasting your time at work. Possibly, you are somewhere in between. Most technology, like email and social networking, can be great tools but lousy masters!
