Everyone has loving and wise ancestors, no matter how complicated our family history. We also have the ability to consciously draw on their wisdom and support for personal and family empowerment. Relating with our beloved ancestors also encourages healthy self-esteem and helps us to clarify our destiny, relationships, and work in the world.

Attendees at this intro talk will learn a basic framework from which to safely and directly engage family and older lineage ancestors as sources of guidance, healing, and spiritual inspiration. Teaching will include ways to assist those who have not yet joined the ancestors ...See All

About Creator
Daniel Foor, Ph.D., is a teacher and practitioner of practical animism who specializes in ancestral and family healing and in helping humans relate well with the rest of the natural world. He has trained for over two decades with teachers of Mahayana Buddhism, Islamic Sufism, and diverse indigenous paths, including the traditions of his Northern European ancestors. Daniel is also a student of Yoruba culture and an initiate (omo awo) of Ifa, Orisa, and Egungun in the lineage of Oluwo Falolu Adesanya of Ode Remo, Nigeria. Daniel's doctoral research in psychology focused on the use of shamanic healing practices by clinical mental health professionals, and he is a licensed marriage and family therapist. He has spent time as a student of culture and language in the Czech Republic, Mexico, Ecuador, Egypt, Morocco, and Nigeria. Training as a therapist, living in other societies, and immersion in different lineages of spiritual practice all inform his kind and non-dogmatic approach to ancestor and earth reverence. Daniel and his wife now live with their senior dog Jude in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. For more on his approach to ritual and path see
