Join Jerry for a Reiki mediation using guided imagery of the magic and wisdom of the Chakras, the energy centers within you. This meditation is infused with the loving and peaceful vibes of Reiki and the vitality of the Universal Life Force Energy. Reiki is a relaxation technique to achieve peace and relaxation within the core of one’s being. It is also known as a hands on healing modality where the practitioner places their hands on or around the recipient, or sends the energy over a distance of time or space to help one connect to the enlightened realms.

In this sweet, relaxing, all-levels Restorative class, we use the Breath (via the Prana Maya Kosha) to recognize, differentiate, and soothe the experiences of the Body (Anna Maya Kosha). After the Body is cared for, we use the Breath to recognize, differentiate, and soothe the experiences of the Mind (Mano Maya Kosha). By creating a smooth and organized experience of the Breath, the Mind, the Body, and Awareness all appear and are experienced differently and thus deep levels of restoration and Meditation occur. Through this practice, we actively experience the scientific system of Samkhya.

In her engaging workplace workshops, Ginny teaches simple and proven techniques to release pain and restore energy, tailored to the specific needs of your profession and staff. She also teaches yoga classes at Serenity Yoga Studio in the South Hadley Village Commons. In her 25 years of experience designing curricula and leading capacity building workshops, Ginny has trained a wide variety of audiences, including community volunteers, homeless parents, housing developers, real estate brokers, planning and zoning officials, environmental advocates and health insurance employees. A seasoned public speaker, she is known for her interactive, enjoyable, and informative presentations. Ginny moved to South Amherst in 2012 with her spouse and young son. In addition to teaching, she has been a contributing columnist in the Daily Hampshire Gazette and on the Award Winning Hilltown Families blog. Daily she’s amazed by the beauty the Pioneer Valley offers, though her allergies beg to differ.
Dawn’s yoga journey first began in 1999, when she bought a Rodney Yee VHS yoga videotape. She made a habit of practicing yoga every day to bring fitness and stress relief to the ups and downs of daily life. After gaining some momentum and comfort in her practice, Dawn met her match at a local gym a few years later. For the first time, her poses were on public display-meaning: hands-on adjustments, cues, and practicing openly in front of others. After conquering this obstacle, she was led to seek out a permanent yoga studio and a place she could use as a hideout to put her restless mind on the back burner for an hour or two.
