Additional Information
Herb Knoll lost his bride, Michelle, to pancreatic cancer on March 7, 2008. When he went looking for help in dealing with his grief, the clerk at the local bookstore told him "Mister, I don't have a damn thing for you." Soon after that, he resigned his position as a bank executive so he could dedicate his life to serving as an advocate for widowers and those who love them. Knoll founded the Widowers Support Network (WidowersSupportNetwork.com) in 2014.
As an advocate and instructor, Knoll's compassion and understanding for what his audiences are going through become instantly apparent. His insights are refreshing. His teachings are life altering and are ideally suited for both widowed men and women, as well as any member of their support group.
After nine years of research, Knoll released his breakout book, The Widower's Journey (2017). Playwright Neal Radice was so moved by Knoll's work, he was inspired to write the new play, "I'm Fine" which was awarded the Emmanuel Fried Award for Outstanding New Play in upstate New York (2017).
A former bank president, Knoll's has previously served as a newspaper columnist and a feature writer for magazines. PBS affiliate WNED produced and aired the three-part series Today's Executive, featuring Herb's business insights, based on his previous book, The Total Executive.
