Volunteer Leaders are individuals in our communities committed to investing their time, ideas, resources and experiences to lead others in service for social good. Military Veterans, who have already gained years of experience in giving back to their country, are a natural fit to be volunteer leaders with their skills and practice in the service sector. Register for this session to learn the best practices for identifying, empowering, and engaging military Veterans as Volunteer Leaders.
This is a required session for VLC members. Register for this session to learn specific ways to connect with the military community, must have partnerships and specific strategies for building veterans’ trust.
This is a required session for VLC members. During this session we will brainstorm and design at least 10 ideas for veteran led and supported volunteer projects that support the military community. We will also brainstorm about ways to integrate volunteers into your current services and offerings. This session will also highlight the best practices for designing and implementing a service project that serves and engages the military community. At the end of this session you will be familiar with the existing tools and resources for executing a meaningful service project and you will be able to plan your own.
